Florida flag Florida - Until Further Notice
With the approach of Hurricaine Dorian, expected to be Category 4 when it makes landfall, Governor Ron Desantis has declared a state of emergency for the entire state of Florida. As such, Florida is requesting travel restrictions to the entire state until further notice.


AUGUST

Hawaii flag Hawaii - August 1–31
Requests travel restriction to the island of Hawaii. Please contact the Hawaii Interstate Compact Office for more information. This request may be extended.


New Mexico flag New Mexico - August 29–September 1
Please restrict offender travel to the Hawgfest – The New Ride rally in Carlsbad.


SEPTEMBER

Hawaii flag Hawaii - September 1–30
Requests travel restriction to the island of Hawaii. Please contact the Hawaii Interstate Compact Office for more information. This request may be extended.


Oregon flag Oregon - September 6–16
Please restrict offender travel to Umatilla, Morrow, and Union Counties for the Pendleton Round Up Rodeo in Pendleton.


New Mexico flag New Mexico - September 18–22
Please restrict offender travel to the 50th Annual Golden Aspen Motorcycle Rally in Ruidoso Downs.


Nevada flag Nevada - September 25–29
Please restrict offenders from traveling to the Reno area during the Street Vibrations Fall Rally.


OCTOBER

Hawaii flag Hawaii - October 1–31
Requests travel restriction to the island of Hawaii. Please contact the Hawaii Interstate Compact Office for more information. This request may be extended.

+ State Updates +

Hawaii flag Hawaii - The travel restriction request set to expire at the end of August has been extended to October 31. Please contact the Compact Office directly if you have an offender requesting to transfer to the island of Hawaii.


Iowa flag Iowa - Interstate Compact Commissioner Charles Lauterbach has an updated bio.


Massachusetts flag Massachusetts - There are several Interstate Compact Parole staff updates. Kevin Keefe is the new DCA Parole, Lynn Zariv now handles Parole Outgoing Cases, and Mark Fournier is the new Interstate Compact Parole Supervisor.


Michigan flag Michigan - The bio for Russell Marlan, Interstate Compact Commissioner, is updated.


Mississippi flag Mississippi - The Interstate Compact Office moved to a temporary location this week. Telephone numbers remain the same. The temporary address is:

The State Council held a meeting on July 30, in which topics discussed included the compliance audit, warrant audit, Annual Business Meeting, and rule proposals. The meeting minutes are available for download.



North Carolina flagNorth Carolina - The Interstate Compact Office staff roster is updated.


Texas flagTexas - Long-time Interstate Compact Office staffer, Henry Mitchell, passed away on August 14. Mr. Mitchell oversaw offenders Q–Z.

+ Compact Office Calendar - Please be aware of upcoming closures, shortened hours of operation, or the possibility of limited staff due to inclement weather, trainings, and state or national holidays.


+ Committee and Region Updates +

+ The Minutes from the June DCA Liaison Committee meeting are now available. The committee welcomes 2 new members:
Elizabeth Powell / District of Columbia
Denis Clark / Maine

+ The Finance Committee met recently and discussed the Commission budget, fiscal year audit, and approved their March meeting minutes.


+ The East Region met on Tuesday, August 27, with 10 commissioners and 11 deputy compact administrators in attendance. There was healthy discussion on the proposal to Rule 3.103, a review of agenda topics for the face-to-face meeting on Tuesday, October 8 in San Diego, CA, and a review of Executive Committee items.


+ The Rules Committee recently approved minutes from their July 11 and August 6 meetings. Both meetings focused on rule proposals being presented for vote at the 2019 Annual Business Meeting in October.
