Wayne Salisbury JR.

Wayne began his career in 1987 as a Law Enforcement Specialist in the United States Air Force working patrol and corrections. Six years later he separated from active duty to become a Correctional Officer progressing through the ranks to Warden for a municipal ACA accredited facility in Rhode Island. Wayne has over thirty-five years of jail and prison experience as a practitioner, auditor, and administrator. Wayne is currently the Acting Director of the Rhode Island Department of Corrections. Since joining the department in March 2016, Wayne has served in the roles of Deputy Warden and Warden of the departments Intake Service Center. Wayne also served as the Deputy Warden overseeing the Training Academy for over three years and was the Assistant Director of Administration for two years. Wayne holds an associate degree in Law Enforcement, bachelors’ degrees in Criminal Justice and Cyber Security along with a master’s degree in Public Administration.
