Communicating with Members of the Public 02-2007

I. Objectives

A. This policy ensures that communications with members of the public are handled equally, devoid of judgment, and are consistent with the business objectives of the Interstate Commission for Adult Offender Supervision.

II. Applicability

A. This policy applies to all Commissioners engaged in the business of the Compact.

B. This policy applies to those Commissioners solicited by the public regarding matters in other states.

III. Policy

A. To ensure consistency of information disseminated to the public, Commissioners are encouraged to channel and coordinate all communication through the national office.

Compact Commissioner or "Commissioner" - means the voting representative of each compacting state appointed under the terms of the Interstate Compact for Adult Offender Supervision as adopted in the member state.
